The Light of Noon
glass by Celia Dowson & Edmond Byrne
Long noon light filtering through fuchsia, coral and indigo-hued glass. Fares of the sun captured in the depth of the glass forms. There is a familiar recognition in their everyday nature; crisp beakers and bowls, tall vases. But, the long light, through the body's colour, pulls out the extraordinary. Dusk falls light passes through the breadth of fuchsia; from pink to rose to rumba red, in its last light call.
Studio MC, Maker Moments
We are pleased to present a new collection by Studio MC in the gallery. Utilising the versatility of clay, Studio MC embrace chance and unpredictability. Primary shapes and architectural structures lead them to experiment with the connotations of a vessel form. These objects play with the distinction between art objects and functional ceramics.
‘Capturing Stillness’ by JaeJun Lee & Hayley McCrirrick
‘Capturing Stillness’ is an exhibition of porcelain objects and dyed textiles. The exhibition showcases South Korean Ceramicist JaeJun Lee and Scottish Artist Hayley McCrirrick. Both artists capture a stillness through a refined palette and materials. They are led by their making process, allowing the repetition of core techniques to embody their intuition. The refinement of their processes showcases an exhibition that captures a tranquil and welcoming stillness to the gallery.

‘Crin’ Baskets — Maker Moments
The 'Crin' baskets a collaboration between Chilean designer Isabel Lecaros and Maestra Madre de Rari, a collective of 16 craftswomen from a village in the Maule Region of southern Chile.
The project came about in 2017 when Isabel met some of the women in Santiago, where they were selling small, colourful decorative objects made from crin (horsehair). Lecaros was interested in how they used this traditional style of weaving and, after being invited to the village to meet with the other artisans, he suggested working with them to explore the possibilities of this craft.
