Yoriko Murayama

Japanese Textile Artist

“I  MAKE FIBRE OBJECTS BY FOLDING AND MANIPULATING THE CLOTH WITHOUT CUTTING. THESE WORKS ARE OFTEN FAMILIAR SHAPES THAT MAKE US REMEMBER OR RECALL A SPECIFIC OBJECT. I EXPRESS MYSELF IN MY WORK AND EXPLORE IDEAS AROUND A MEMORY.”

Japanese Textile Artist using the familiar form of a house. Its nostalgic landscape is woven using Ikat techniques with natural dyes, plane weaving, silk and abaca.
