Jochen trained as a technical glass blower in Germany and completed a BA Hons in Applied Arts at Edinburgh College of Art and a MA in Ceramics and Glass at The Royal College of Art. Since graduating, he has worked as a freelance glassmaker. He was awarded the RSA Award in 2000, the Centre Prize at the RCA in 2003 and was shortlisted for the Bombay Sapphire Prize.
