Greg Kent
British Wood Worker
"THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE WITH OAK WHICH HAS MEDULLARY RAYS WHICH GO ACROSS THE GROWTH RINGS. ”
Greg’s work showcases nature’s fragility and strength through hand-turned ‘woven’ looking vessels with a thickness of 2mm. Greg collects his wood from local tree surgeons that would have otherwise been used as firewood. The wood is then 'turned green'; Whilst it is still wet, and then sandblasted once it has dried to reveal a lace-like effect by removing the soft spring growth.
