Weaving from Waste Workshop with Maria Sigma

SSP_379.jpeg

Maria's workshop will teach you all the basics of weaving, transforming your household waste textiles into masterpieces.

The workshop is a 3-hour class designed to give to students a thorough and intensive grounding in hand-weaving. You will learn foundational weaving skills, such as warping and basic weaving techniques and patterns, and finishing techniques. The aim of the class is to not only cover a range of styles but also encourage the student to develop his/her own distinctive voice as a weaver. You can make a small wall hanging, pieces for a patchwork, a phone-case or an abstract artwork, and plenty more. Let your imagination run wild!

Cost: £120.00 per person (limited places)

Included: Small wooden frame loom, weaving tools and Maria’s newest book 'Weaving: The Art of Sustainable Textile Creation'

To bring: Textiles and clothes to recycle - tablecloths, bed sheets, pillowcases, and T-shirts
