“I WORK DIRECTLY WITH THE CERAMICS BY CUTTING, SCULPTING, SANDING OR JOINING TOGETHER. THE WORK PROCESS THUS BECOMES A WAY BY WHICH I CAN, THROUGH PHYSICAL INTERVENTION, POSE QUESTIONS TO THE MATERIAL ITSELF AND POINT TO THE NARRATIVES INHERENT IN THE OBJECTS.”

Caroline is a Finnish artist interested in found objects. Her work features secondhand pieces, such as ceramic plates, and alters one detail or another, giving the old materials new life. They are tangible reminders of that which has been, of our own life's history, of one's family's past, of our cultural and historical background.
