Dialogue with the Material

a showcase of German Jeweller

Ulrike Ramen

“THE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE PRECIOUS METAL, THE CRAFTSMANSHIP & THE CREATION OF HARMONIOUS FORMS OF LASTING VALUE IS MY DAILY CHALLENGE & JOY. THE BEST THING ABOUT MY WORK IS TO CREATE JEWELLERY & TO SEE A PERSON WEAR IT. THAT CLOSES A CIRCLE FOR ME .”

We are delighted to have Ulrike join us from Denmark for an Artist Talk at 6pm Wednesday 15th September at Flow Gallery

— please RSVP to info@flowgallery.co.uk

Ramin enters into a dialogue with the material through processes, experimentation, intuition and time. She combines exciting contrasts. Powerful and delicate. Pure, elegant and strikingly different.

After graduating from Staatliche Zeichenakademie Hanau as a goldsmith, Ulrike Ramin started her jewellery making journey in various goldsmith studios in Germany, Spain, Iceland and Denmark. Today she is living and working in Copenhagen, designing her jewellery. Ulrike Ramin works with small series and unique pieces. Ulrike carefully chooses her materials. The durability, quality and origin of materials are essential aspects of her work. Her critical suppliers are members of the organization Responsible Jewellery Council, which has created standards to define responsible ethical, human rights, social, and environmental practice.
